Over the past year our group has organised many
informative and fun events, most of which we hope will be annual
fixtures.
March 20, 2010 - World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) walk around Safa Park (Gate 2) at 4pm. WDSD is celebrated on 21st March all around the world. The date is selected to signify the triplication of the 21st chromosome (hence 21/3). However, here in Dubai, we held the walk on Saturday 20th March.
What a great turnout of families and friends! We would like to thank all the participants, Jumeirah Primary School, Tumble Times, Pepsi and Volunteers in Dubai for their fantastic support.
Feb 19/2010 - A Family Fun Day for 0-5 year group at Jumeirah 3.
Mar 21/2009 - World Down Syndrome Day walk around Safa Park. Once again a great show of support by family and friends.
Feb 2009 - A lovely Family Lunch for the 0-5 group and Jumeirah 3.
Quarterly meetings - With guest speakers such as: Dr. Loubser on health issues, Dr. Ruba Tabari (DCHC) on behavioral issues, Helen Tomlinson on integration within mainstream schools, Andrea Bombala on Sound Therapy, Dr. Rekha Ramachandra who shared her expertise in many areas.

March 21/2007 - World Down Syndrome Day - Members and friends celebrated this special day with a walk around Safa Park 1.

May 26/2006 - Sports car Experience ! 31 sports cars ( organised
by the Porsche Club and their affiliates) gathered at Mina Seyahi
where everyone could view the fantastic sight of the cars displayed
below with the backdrop of the sea. The teens and young adults each
had a ride to Nad Al Sheba in one type of sports car, and back again
in another!! Every young persons dream came true that day! On their
return Mina Seyahi treated everyone to a delicious lunch.

2. 'Creative Drama' kindly did a workshop with the children and the
'Jam Jar' set up easels for the kids to demonstrate their artistic
talents !
January 21/22/2006 - Professor Sue Buckley from Downs Ed in
Portsmouth, UK came to Dubai to give a 2 day conference at Knowledge
Village. She covered all aspects of Down syndrome and talked about
the research they do with Portsmouth University, and the positive
and very hopeful facts that have come from it.
The conference was very well attended on both days.
She also did a one day mini conference in Abu Dhabi.
